Blog readers, meet Ben. A perfect little baby, in a perfect little house, with a perfect little family. I really enjoyed this session! It went about as well as a newborn session could possibly go. Ben slept the entire session, regardless of where we moved him or what position we placed him in. The house was only a few months old, was perfectly decorated, and had tons of natural light in almost every room. I love the way the photos came out, hopefully you agree.
Sometimes during a session, I can tell the clients are getting tired of taking photos (or maybe tired of my bad jokes) and want to wrap it up. Kamila and Mike were the opposite of that. They were super adventurous, easy-going, and up for whatever. We shot to the last possible minute.... literally. The staff ushered us out at closing with us begging to take one last photo with the sunset.
It’s a lot of fun to shoot sessions like this because we can take our time, get creative, and make some great photos. I really enjoy the way these photos came out. It was hard to pick my favorites to post on here.
I was ecstatic when Andrew (my brother) and his wife Shani asked me to take maternity photos of them. We planned a fall session at Harriet Wetherill Park, which turned out to be a gorgeous day. As if having a baby in the near future wasn't enough, Andrew and Shani showed up to the shoot with a surprise... a puppy named Luna that they adopted the day beforehand. She had a cameo in a few of the photos.
Fall is starting to wind down, there aren't many leaves left on the trees, and I can finally catch my breath. This fall has been super hectic but a ton of fun! I'm a little behind on posting to the blog, so instead of posting a bunch of session updates like I normally do, I've picked a few of my favorite photos from the sessions that I missed.
Going into a session with a new family, I'm never really sure how the kids will do posing for pictures. They all have their own unique personalities and temperaments. Some are great in front of the camera, some are... well, not so great (like my own kid). Usually, the first few pictures are pretty telling. For this session, as soon as I pointed the picture at these guys, Robbie cracked a huge smile, and he didn't stop smiling for the entire session. It also didn't hurt that we had a beautiful sunny 65 degree October day as well. I love the way these pics turned out. I especially love the sunset silhouette from the end of the session.
Sometimes we have sessions where absolutely nothing goes right... It's cold, dreary, the kids are miserable, the location is drab, the parents are stressed.... and then we have sessions like this, where everything is absolutely perfect. These ones are a lot of fun to shoot. It was 70 degrees, bright blue skies, a perfect location in Valley Forge Park, and of course a great family. Danny loved to smile and ham it up for the camera. My job was pretty easy for this one.
Meet the Lewis Family. We had a lot of fun shooting in Harriet Wetherill Park. The weather was cold and a bit gloomy, but they had a great attitude and made the best of it. Bennett's teeth were chattering, but he was a good sport, he didn't make a peep the entire time. Little did the rest of us know, Blair had her own agenda for the session. I think we got some great shots in the end.
